As an academy we can offer a range of services for Schools which include
Support for GCSE Astronomy (delivered online with full tutor support)
We offer GCSE Astronomy online and its been very popular. From our last cohort we saw more than 70% A grades with noone receiving below a grade C.
Projects can be supervised at the school with assistance and advice available to enable the school to host the exam. There may be extra money for the school to be earned if external candidates could take their examinations there too.
Mobile Planetarium Service
We offer live planetarium shows to schools including primary and secondary. All shows are in line with the National Curriculum and delivered by a knowledgeable, experienced presenter who is fully DBS checked. Please visit www.OASAplanetarium.co.uk for more details.
Workshops
We are also able to visit your school to talk about getting into astronomy as a hobby as well as demo’s on astrophotography (and spectroscopy coming soon).
FREE ONLINE COURSE!!
To celebrate the launch of our new online Astronomy course for beginners to astronomy we thought as an introduction we would offer one member of staff from each school free access to one of our courses. This is an overview to what is needed to get into astronomy and will give teachers a feel for what the other courses entail.
