It seems after much speculation, its finally been revealed by NASA that there are plumes of water rising from Europa’s surface. Now this is a significant development as it means that below Europa’s icy surface their exists an ocean of water, possibly warm water at that.
This also now makes Europa a strong suspect for possible life ad microbes could live there. There are plants to send a probe to the moon to do a series of flybys, maybe even see if it is possible to drill the surface to analyse the water.
One thing for sure though, this discovery means Europa now joins the ranks of Enceladus and Titan when it comes to moons of interest.
